Doris "Woman" May Scofield, 73, of Evans, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born May 29, 1949, to Harry & Neda (Curtis) Weiss in Brush, Colorado. She was a graduate of Brush High School and attended Aims Community College for a year. On August 3, 1968, she married Rick Scofield at First Assembly of God Church in Greeley.
Doris worked as an electrical inspector and was employed by Advanced Energy for 20 years. She also worked for EFTC. She and Rick moved to Evans in 1994. Her faith was very important to her. She attended Timberline Church and First Assembly of God Church and was involved in many vocal groups within the churches including, Melotones, Redeemed, Timberline Church Choir and His Grace. She was 1966 Rodeo Queen and was a licensed Ham Radio Club member.
She is survived by her husband, Rick Scofield of Evans, their sons, Neil Scofield and his wife Katie of Evans, Nathan Scofield and his wife Keri of Greeley, their daughter, Mindy Scofield of Greeley, a brother, Leonard Weiss and his wife Sonja of Brush, Colorado, 3 sisters, Sharon Weiss of Salt Lake City, Utah, Janet Ferguson of Prescott Valley, Arizona, and Marlene Chenoweth of Laurel, Montana, 12 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents, Harry and Neda Weiss.
A visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel in Evans. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at First Assembly of God Church, 3000 16th Street in Greeley. Interment at Eaton Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in Doris's name with future designation and may be sent in care of Moser Funeral Service, 3501 11th Ave., Evans, CO 80620.
