Obituary

Dorothy Hinojosa, 76 of Greeley, died on Monday, May 5, 2008 at the Hospice & Palliative Care of Northern Colorado Inpatient Unit in Greeley. She was born on July 23, 1931 in Eaton, Colorado to Julian and Genoveva (Duran) Martinez. Dorothy married Roland Hinojosa on April 23, 1951 in Greeley. They just celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary. Dorothy has lived in Greeley for most of her life and she graduated from Greeley High School in 1949. She later attended Blair Business College and graduated in 1950 with a Secretarial Degree. She worked for the State of Colorado in various agencies, retiring in 1996 after 22 years of service at the University of Northern Colorado. Mrs. Hinojosa enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren. Her greatest joy in life was enjoying and taking pride in her very beloved grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Roland Hinojosa of Greeley; her son, RJ (Joe) Hinojosa of Evergreen, Colorado; two daughters, Margie Keatley and her husband Lon of Louisville, Colorado and Janis Hinojosa of Greeley. Dorothy is survived by four beloved grandchildren, Ian Dvorak, Erica Richards, and Rachel and Natalie Keatley. She is also survived by two sisters, Ermie Rios of Denver, Colorado and Flora Velasquez and her husband Adolph of Westminster, Colorado. She is preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Genoveva Martinez; a sister, Cora Ybarra; a brother, Joe Martinez and a granddaughter, Tiffany Dvorak. A memorial service to celebrate Dorothy's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue in Evans with Deacon Frederick Torrez officiating.
