In the quiet town of Loveland, CO, a gentle soul has departed from this world. Dorothy Jean Taylor, affectionately known as Dot, passed away on June 12, 2023, at the age of 88. Dot was born in Platteville, CO, on August 29, 1934, to Thomas Orr Brown and Viola Alice (Beirs) Brown. She was a graduate of Platteville High School, where she nurtured her love for learning.
Dot was a woman of many talents and a heart full of warmth. She was a kind and loving person whose sense of humor brought joy to those around her. She had a playful side and was known to chase the kids with a broom when they were in trouble. Dot was also an accomplished seamstress, and her skill with a needle was legendary. She loved sewing dresses for her granddaughter and creating intricate paper piece quilts that were admired by all who saw them.
Dot's life was full of love and family. She is survived by her son Chris (Wendy) Wayne Taylor of Johnstown, CO, and her daughter Tammy (Russ) Anne Archibeque of Greeley, 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George W Taylor Jr, son Gary Dean Taylor, and daughter Cindy Diane Grubbs. Dot also mourned the loss of her father Thomas Orr Brown, mother Viola Alice (Beirs) Brown, brothers William Scott, Roy Max, Richard Thomas, James Orr, and sisters Buelah Alice and Betty Mae.
Dot was a devout member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses since 1968. Her faith gave her strength, and her unwavering devotion to her beliefs was an inspiration to those around her.
Dot's hobbies were a testament to the beauty she found in all things. She loved sewing, creating intricate china paintings on porcelain dolls, and quilting. Her work was a reflection of her soul, and it will continue to bring joy to those who cherish it.
A memorial service in memory of Dot will be held on June 22, 2023, at 2 pm at Moser Funeral & Cremation Service, located at 3501 S 11th Ave, Evans, CO.
