Obituary

Dorrace (Dori) W. Moffitt-Pittman, 95, of Greeley, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020.

She was born May 26, 1924 to Sherman & Nora (Reel) Wallace in Bushnell, Nebraska. She was a graduate of Central High School in Cheyenne, Wyoming. On February 14, 1946, she married James E. Moffitt in Cheyenne.

Dori’s first job was in the 1940’s at the telephone company. Dori and her husband moved to Greeley to farm in the late 40's. Then in the late 50's they bought the Red Wing Motel. She later went to work for Blue Cross/Blue Shield as a Medicare Specialist. She like to travel, spending time with her family and enjoyed playing games; everything from poker, to crosswords, to Bingo. She liked reading and working with her hands doing needlepoint and crocheting.

Survivors include her son, Kent (Lorrie) Moffitt of Ute, Iowa, her daughter Nancy (Bob) Dethloff of Greeley, Colorado, granddaughters, Sandy (Clay) Luce of Kersey, Colorado, and Sara (Ben) Duran of Naples, Florida, a great grandson, William M. Duran of Greeley, Colorado, plus several nieces & nephews and great & great-great nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman & Nora Wallace, her husband, James E. Moffitt, a son, James Kirk Moffitt, her brothers, Clyde, Russell, Lloyd, Merle, Arthur, and Delbert, and her sisters, Mary Walling Foster, Maie McKee Huffman, and Faye Norton.

Inurnment will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
