Douglas James Born was born on September 8th, 1961, to James and Erma Born. He was born in Brighton, CO and lived most of his young life in Clearbrook, Minnesota on the farm. He was homeschooled until his later years in school where he graduated from Clearbrook High School. After graduating from Vocational School with an auto body degree, he married Esther Seewald and moved to Akron Colorado. Doug lived life to the fullest as he enjoyed working with his dad in the family car business and then went on to expand the business to supply antique car parts to people all over the world. This job was not a job, it was a passion that he and his dad both shared, which Doug has now passed on to his own 3 children.

If you ask Doug what was most important in life he would share about his relationship with Jesus Christ and the importance of knowing Him personally. Next would be his family, DJ (Douglas James Born II) his wife Jessica, and their children Collette, Declan, and Everett, Michael Wayne Born his wife Jennie and son Ben, Amanda Elizabeth Born (Doug's Boo), Sisters Lori Bowker and Jamie Limberg and of course we have Uncle Bob who tries to keep us all in line.

Over the past few years Doug has expanded his hobbies by learning to dance and adding some adventure and travel, which included a trip to Cancun! Anyone who knows Doug had to question this decision as it involved airline travel, passports and not sleeping in his own bed! But that sparked a new relationship that changed his world and gave him the opportunity to try new things and push himself out of his comfort zone to experience a wonderful relationship with Kathleen Van Norden. They have enjoyed endless hours together and as we have watched their relationship grow, we have seen a true unconditional love develop, that was the strength that helped Doug walk through these last months to finish his race in life well.

Douglas was preceded in death by his Parents, James Douglas Born, Erma Isabel Born, Grandparents John and Ethal Born and Andrew and Marie Weinmeister, Also preceded in death by many Uncles, Aunts, cousins which created a family reunion in heaven. Doug will be greatly missed by all who knew him!

Funeral services will be held at Eaton Evangelical Free Church on September 12th at 11:00 am with a light lunch to follow.
