Edgar "Buddy" Lee Keever Jr.

Edgar (Buddy) Keever passed away on Sunday morning, June 15, 2025, in Loveland, Colorado. Buddy was born to Edgar Lee Keever and Lucille Venyard in Weldona, Colorado on September 24, 1940. Bud, was their fourth child, having three older sisters, and one younger sister. Buddy and his family moved to Evans, Colorado while he was a young child. Little did they know that this was where Bud would make his forever home. Bud attended Evans High School and played Basketball, Baseball, and Football. Though Bud was not a big guy, he accelerated in sports. He also enjoyed playing his trombone in band and mathematics. Bud graduated in 1959. Bud earned a scholarship for Sterling College for all three sports. Even though Bud decided not to attend College, Bud forged forward in building his own legacy. Shortly after graduating, Bud and Connie married, had their only child Taunya Lee, and later divorced. Bud focused on his job and making a future by working construction next to his dad, Ed, then working at Monfort as a meat cutter. Bud bought his first house which was in Evans. Bud met Lola Jo Bain at a drag race in Denver. They married in June 1968, which was a double wedding with Lola Jo’s twin sister Lois Ann and James Hatch. The couple went on to open a tree lot in 1970 with Lois Ann and Jim, cutting down their trees for the first few years. Bud and Lola jo bought a home in Greeley. In 1971, they had their oldest child, daughter Shauna Lei (named after her dad). In 1974 they welcomed their second child, son Jeremy Scott. The couple opened a Snowmobile store in Greeley, and as a result Bud took up racing snowmobiles. Camping, fishing, and snowmobiling with their families became a large pastime. In 1977 they decided to build a grocery store and build their home in Evans. Bud joined the Chamber of Commerce, building the city park its pavilion. Wanting to bring more kids activities to Evans, Bud helps organize the first teenager dance and the ongoing tradition of the Easter egg hunt. In 1982, their lives were changing again, and Bud and Lola Jo divorced. They both stayed in Evans raising their children. Bud bought what would be his last home in Evans on 37th Street. Bud worked for Agland in Eaton, driving and delivering feed to Northern Colorado. His mother Lucille moved in with him and helped with Shauna and Scott. Bud met Rosi while out with friends. Bud would visit Rosi at TODDYS, and they started dating. If Rosi was working, Bud would pick up Rosi’s daughter Manuela on the weekend, and he had Shauna and Scott. Rosi and Manuela moved into the house in 1984. The family spent their time camping up in the Cherokee park area. Bud and Rosi married on April 15, 1988, in a small ceremony at their home, where Lucille, Shauna, Scott, Jeremy and Manuela along with their friends Dick and Elkie Boggs attended. Days continued as they worked on blending their families together. Bud and Rosi decided to build an addition onto their little 2-bedroom home by adding two more bedrooms, a large living room, a dining room, and two bathrooms to make room for everyone. They were able to build this with the help of their family. They found out that there was going to be an addition to their new family in the means of their first grandchild. They welcomed Amanda Marie Warr in May 1989. Bud was there when Amanda took her first breath. Bud took his new role as Grandpa seriously. In 1992, they had their second granddaughter, Katherine Jo Warr, born in October, and also in 1992, there was added a third grandchild, his first grandson, Randal Keever. Bud ran K & H tree with his wife Rosi and their children until the early 1990’s. His fourth Grandson Cody Keever was born in October 1994, and his fifth grandson Jory Keever was born in August 1996. He loved spoiling them all and being surrounded by their smiling little faces. In 1996, Bud and Rosi surprised the family when they bought a cabin in Red Feather Lakes. This property would bring the family many wonderful years of memories. Bud and Rosi enjoyed taking the grandkids fishing, going on bike rides with the family, eating ice cream and maybe sharing his cookies. In the early 2000’s, Bud retired from Agland and celebrated with his first trip to Germany with his family and friends, which would kick off the new chapter of his journey. This trip would be Bud’s first time on a plane, and he was a little stressed because he ended up being grounded in Chicago overnight due to a storm. Bud was excited though; the airlines had given him a nice room and a food voucher. By the time he arrived in Germany, he was relieved and tired. Bud and Rosi had many trips to Germany and traveled by double decker bus, train, and car to see more of Europe. They also spent time with Rosi’s family and made new friends. Bud never learned German. They also traveled to Canada and Mexico. Bud was always telling us about his wonderful food experiences and how cheap the food was. As time passed, Bud became an expert on traveling. He also worked on his fishing skills at Snake Lake, Dowdy Lake, Belaire Lake, Day Lake, Letitia Lake, and Lake Erie. During this time, the grandkids were reaching adulthood and starting their own lives, but they still got together for dinners, birthdays, and holidays. In 2012, they welcomed their first Great grandson, Zuriel Bain. This time would mark the end of the traveling abroad as they started staying closer to home and the cabin. Their lives would now be filled with more Grandbabies, Elijah Bosch arriving in March and Miss Paisley Keever in May of 2014. They were followed by Oliver Keever in January and Preston Keever in November, both born in 2018; Aspen Keever born in July of 2020; Wesley Keever born in April of 2022; and Zoey Keever born in November 2023. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 2, 2025, at the Evans Community Complex, 1100 37th Street, Evans, CO 80620.
