Edward James “Chief” Duchene, 75, of Fort Collins, Colorado, passed away on September 27, 2026.
He was born on February 17, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, to Jack and Marie (Tramontana) Kane. He grew up with his four siblings and attended school in the Chicago area. He later joined the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.
Edward had a lifelong passion for cooking, and after completing his military service, he pursued that passion professionally, becoming a chef.
In the 1980s, Edward moved to Colorado and quickly fell in love with the state. He made Colorado his home for the remainder of his life, most recently residing in Fort Collins. After moving to Colorado, he met Claudia Metli. The two were married from 1990 until 1995 and welcomed a daughter, Cheyenne, whom Edward cherished deeply.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Marie Kane.
He is survived by his daughter, Cheyenne (Justin) Walraven; his brothers, Larry and Chucky; his sisters, Linda and Carla; and his four beloved grandchildren.
