Obituary

Edward Krafft of Eaton, Colorado, died on Aug. 31, 2013, at the in-patient unit of the Hospice of Northern Colorado. He was 92 when he was taken to his eternal rest in heaven. Ed was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Herman and Ada (List) Krafft. After graduating from Concordia Teacher's College, River Forest, Illinois, he obtained his Master's degree from Washington University, St. Louis, MO. He married Winifred Schroeder in October 1945 before leaving for the Missouri Lutheran Church's mission field in southern India. There he supervised the church's numerous elementary and secondary schools for Indian children for 16 years. On returning to the United States with his family in 1961, Ed began a second career teaching at East Memorial and later at UNC's Lab School. He retired after 20 years at the Lab School in 1984. After living 29 years in Greeley, he and Winnie moved to Eaton. He dedicated his life to serving his Lord, his family and friends and his students. He was particularly proud of the cabin he built with the help of the whole family and of writing his memoirs, "Abiding in the Shadow of His Wings." He leaves here his dear brother Arthur of Menomonee Falls, WI, eight children, 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. His wife and one grandchild, Adrienne Murphy, predeceased him. Committal services will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens on the 16th of September at 10 AM, followed by a memorial service and luncheon at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Ft. Collins, at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Peter Lutheran Church or to the Hospice of Northern Colorado.
