Obituary: Eleanor Winter Age: 74 Residence: Eaton Tribute: Eleanor Jean Winter "Jeanie" was born in Fort Morgan, Colorado on December 26, 1931 to Jacob and Mary (Wagner) Herdt. On April 15, 1950, she married Charles Winter. At the time of her death, she had been married for 56 years. Mrs. Winter was raised in Fort Morgan and graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1949. She was confirmed in the Fort Morgan Congregational Church. She moved to Eaton with her husband and family in 1959 where she lived until her death. Through the years she worked as a nurses' aid, a telephone operator, a store clerk, a cook for Eaton Middle School and was primarily a home maker and farm wife. She enjoyed cooking, reading, playing slot machines and spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Winter died Thursday, June 15th at the Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado inpatient unit in Greeley. Survivors: Husband, Charles Winter Sr of Eaton, a Son, Charles Winter Jr and wife Charlene of Eaton two Daughters, Lori Winter of Fort Collins and Karla Winter-Brisendine and husband Mike of Eaton, she is also survived by three grandchildren: Katie Mussman and husband Steven of Evans, Gabe Winter of Eaton and Emily Brisendine of Eaton. And a great-granddaughter Adaline Mussman. Brothers Robert Herdt and wife Esther of Centennial; Donald Herdt and wife Velva of Windsor; Leroy Herdt and wife Donna of Cheyenne. Preceded in death by: Her parents, a brother, Harold Herdt and a sister, Mary Ann Hughes. Services: Tuesday, June 20th at 10:00 a.m. at the Evangelical Free Church of Eaton located at 1325 3rd Street in Eaton. Interment at Eaton Cemetery.
