Eligio "Alex" Camarillo, 88, of Longmont, passed away on Saturday June 29, 2024, at Longmont United Hospital.

He was born December 1, 1935, in Gonzales, Texas to Pablo and Francisca (Aguilar) Camarillo.  He has lived in the Weld County Area all his life and recently moved to Longmont eight years ago.

He married Eudelia Mijares on August 20, 1957, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Greeley, Colorado.  He worked as a farmer in the Platteville/Gilcrest area.

Alex enjoyed playing his accordion, until he could no longer play.  He loved music, fishing, gardening and enjoyed watching old westerns on television.  He was a lover of people and would often start conversations with strangers.

He is survived by his sons, Rudy Camarillo of Fort Lupton, Gilbert Camarillo of Longmont, Joseph Camarillo of Longmont, God son-John Mijares of Platteville, and loving nephew-Rick Mijares of North Richland Hills, Texas, a daughter, Teresa Camarillo of Greeley, 8 grandchildren-Pete, Jessica, Olivia, Samuel, James, Justina, Natalie and Matthew, 15 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded by his wife, Eudelia Camarillo, sons, Valen and Charles Camarillo, a granddaughter, Jasmine Torres Contreras, his parents, Pablo and Francisca Camarillo, and siblings, Jane Molina, and Jose Camarillo, great great grandson-Silas Montes.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 514 Marion Avenue, in Platteville, Colorado.  Inurnment will follow at Mizpah Cemetery, also in Platteville.
