Elma Lea Blondeaux (Coakley) 82, of Johnstown, Colorado passed away peacefully at her home April 4, 2023, with family by her side.
She was born June 10, 1940 to Marshall and Mable (Hall) Coakley in Diana, West Virginia. Elma attended high school in Webster Springs, West Virginia. Sometime after, she met the love of her life Raymond Ross Blondeaux and they married on March 18, 1968, in Alexandria, Virginia. Elma and Raymond eventually settled in Johnstown, Colorado in 1969 and had resided in their current home since 1980.
Elma was a housewife for most of her life, raising her daughter Elizabeth. She worked part-time for the Senior Center in Johnstown just before her retirement. In her spare time, she enjoyed going camping at Lake John, and she was an avid fisherwoman and had great success catching the biggest trout's. Elma will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Carpenter of Johnstown, Colorado, her grandson Justin Carpenter who cared for her since Raymond's passing and was there for her till the end, brothers Robert Lee Coakley of Pennsylvania, Jim Coakley of West Virginia, Arnold Hall of Council Grove, Kansas, sisters Edith Hall of Ohio, and Virginia Coakley of Smithsburg, Pennsylvania, and a great grandson Pierce Nally of Nebraska.
She was preceded by her parents, Marshall and Mable Coakley, her husband, Raymond Ross Blondeaux, her brothers Woodrow Coakley and Olden Coakley and a sister Juanita Colle.
A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel with inurnment to follow at Johnstown Cemetery.
