Obituary

Elmer Deines, 91, of Eaton, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at his home.

He was born on December 15, 1923 in Fort Collins, Colorado to Henry and Mary Katherine Deines.

Elmer married Dorothy Mae Honstein on April 6, 1952 in Greeley. He farmed in the Eaton area for over 50 years. He was a member of Faith United Church of Christ. He liked to Polka dance, play cards, watch NASCAR races, the Broncos, when they were winning and have lively conversations at McDonald’s with his coffee buddies.

Survivors include his daughter and her husband, Deb and Warren Stroh of Johnstown, his daughter in law, Teresa Deines of Eaton, 3 grandchildren and their spouses, Sheri and Rich Dalgliesh of Milliken, Michelle and Craig Wiedeman of Platteville and Ryan and Jamie Deines of Eaton and 5 great grandchildren, Tyler, Riley and Dylan Dalgliesh, Kasen Wiedeman and Sawyer Deines. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Mae Deines on October 11, 1997; his son, Terry Deines on September 23, 2008; his brother, Albert Deines and 3 sisters, Clara Heckman, Irene Trippel and Ruth Kehl.

Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29th at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue in Evans. A memorial service to celebrate Elmer’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 30th at the Faith United Church of Christ, 1020 Walnut Street in Windsor. Private family interment will be held at the Eaton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Home Instead Senior Care or to Hospice of Northern Colorado. They can be sent in care of Moser Funeral Service, 3501 S. 11th Avenue, Evans, Colorado 80620.
