Elmon Klein, 85, of Greeley, died on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at the Bonell Good Samaritan Center in Greeley.
He was born on March 1, 1921 in Havelock, Nebraska to Andrew and Bertha (Wittman) Klein. Elmon was baptized at the German Lutheran Church and confirmed at the St. James German Lutheran Church in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
Mr. Klein married Marie Steinmark on January 12, 1941 at the St. James Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death on January 17, 1990 in Greeley, Colorado.
Elmon farmed and did custom work for many years in Morrill, Nebraska. He and his famlily moved to Greeley in 1966 where he worked at U.N.C. as the grounds foreman until his retirement in 1978. He has been a member of the Gloria Christi Lutheran Church since 1966 and he enjoyed driving in the country, watching crops grow, gardening and spending time with his grandkids.
Survivors include 2 sons, Jerry Klein of Windsor and Norman Klein of Greeley; 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Private family memorial services to celebrate Elmon's life will be held at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel. His urn will be buried at Sunset Memorial Gardens next to his wife, Marie.
