Erna Maria Tucker, 86, of Pierce, passed away in her home with her family's love July 2, 2014. She began her life in Partenkirchen, Germany or Bavarian Alps on July 20, 1927. Born to Michael and Franziska (Wolf) Lichtenstern as the second oldest of 10 children. She loved the beauty of her mountainous home. She was trained as a beautician and she loved her family deeply. She fell in love with and married a handsome American soldier and began a new life. Erna married Charley Tucker October 27, 1945 and moved to Englewood, Colorado where they would start farming. Two boys, Iven and Chuck were born and she was a devoted mother. The family moved the farm to Wellington, Colorado. She soon gave birth to a daughter, Debbie and she continued to devote her life to her children as well as helping on the farm. They moved again to farm in Pierce, Colorado. She continued to devote her time and energy to her children as well as caring for her grandchildren. She was able to return to her German family for trips as well as have her family visit her here in the US. She considered this her home. She was a very much loved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved all animals, and especially her puppy dogs. Erna is survived by two siblings, her husband, Charley; children, Charles (Beth), Iven (Irene), Debbie Brethauer (John); grandchildren, Scott (Candi), Jason (Jolene), Kristi O'Rourke (Chris), Haley Morrell, Tucker Morrell; as well as great-grandchildren; Emily, Andrew, Kyle and Cami. Family also are Fawn, Cassidy, and Jasmine Leaf. Erna is preceded in death by her parents and seven brothers and sister. A memorial service to celebrate Erna's life will be from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 11, 2014 at the Pierce Fire Department, 601 2nd Street.
