Esther B. (Barela) Castillo, 82 of Evans, Colorado passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 surrounded by her family at home.

Esther graduated from Greeley High School in 1958. She later married Reymond P. Castillo on January 3, 1959 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Greeley, Colorado. The couple lived in Evans since 1964,

She worked at Bayley's in Greeley from 1958-1959 and later became a homemaker from 1959-2020 She loved baking, crochet, card making and making Christmas ornaments, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband, Reymond P. Castillo of Evans; daughters; Elizabeth Castillo-Zimola (John) of Greeley, Colorado, Betty Montano (Robert) of Evans, Colorado and Valerie Castillo Aurora, Colorado; Family Friend who had a special place in her heart, Tyra White of Aurora, Colorado; 2 brothers, Gilbert Barela of Greeley, Colorado and Charles Barela of Montbello, Colorado; a sister, Vera Sylvester of Evans,
5 grandchildren; Audrey Meadows (Vern) of Keenesburg, Colorado, Amber Carpenter (Mark) of Denver, Colorado, Nico Montano (Julie) Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Aaron Zimola (Alissa) of Greeley, Colorado and Matthew Zimola of Greeley, Colorado; 2 great grandchildren; Breanna Garcia (Eric) of Greeley, Colorado and A.J. Garcia (Karina) of Greeley, Colorado

She was preceded in death by her parents, E.V. and Rita Barela; a brother, Adolph Barela and a grandson, Preston Montano.

Services will begin with a visitation from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue in Evans. The Rosary and Liturgy of the Word will be recited
beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
