Obituary

Esther Steinbrecher, 89 of Greeley, died on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at Fairacres Manor Nursing Home in Greeley.
She was born on January 27, 1919 in Ft. Collins, Colorado to Henry and Molly (Hientz) Kaltenberger. They lived in the Wellington and Waverly areas until they moved to Windsor when she was 16. She married Herman Altergott in 1938 in Windsor. He preceded her in death in 1947. She later married Alex Steinbrecher on October 21, 1948 in Kimball, Nebraska. He preceded her in death in 1984.
Esther was a longtime member of St. Paul's Congregational Church. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, playing cards and attending the Greeley Senior Center. She especially liked Polka music and attending Dutch Hops.
Survivors include 2 sons and their wives, Herman & Kathy Altergott of Greeley and Duane & Angela Steinbrecher of Greeley; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and a step daughter in law, Sandra Miller of Windsor. In addition to her husbands, she is preceded in death by 2 step sons, Leland Steinbrecher & his wife Evelyn and Ron Miller; 4 sisters; 1 brother and a special friend, Kenneth Krutsinger.
A funeral service to celebrate Esther's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2008 at the St. Paul's Congregational Church (1525 43rd Avenue). Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
