Fern Jurgensmeier, 100, died November 30, 2016 at Garden Square Westlake in Greeley, Colorado.

Fern was born Nov 28, 1916 to Louis & Lillie Zimmerman in Lawrence, Nebraska. She graduated from Guide Rock High School. On July 9, 1935, she married Stephen Jurgensmeier. They farmed in the St. Stephens, Nelson and Fairfield area until 1975 when they moved to Hastings. She was a member of St. Michael’s Church and Altar Society in Hastings and St. Peter’s Church in Greeley, Colorado. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, spending time with family and playing cards.

Survivors are Julene Hansmann of Moreno Valley, California; Ron Jurgensmeier and wife Mary of Eaton, Colorado; Larry Jurgensmeier and wife Ada of Salem, Oregon; former daughter-in-law Carol Jurgensmeier of Salem, Oregon. Seven grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, and brother, Walter Zimmerman. Memorials may be given to the Hastings Catholic Schools.

Great Grandchildren: Sydney, Andrew & Tyler Westmann; Christopher & Catherine Hansmann; Kayla Wash; Carly, Kaci & Celsi Jurgensmeier.

Great Great Grandchildren: Abby & Hazel Walsh; Lillie Hansmann

Services are at Apfel Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday December 3, 2016 at 11:00 am in Hastings, Nebraska. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings Nebraska following the service.
