Florencia "Flowers" "Mami Florita" Rodriguez de Valdez, 85, of Greeley, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Northern Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.

Florencia was born on October 23, 1938, in Durango, Mexico, to Jose Rodriguez and Lucrecia Torres. She received her high school diploma and graduated from trade school.

Florencia was united in marriage to Arnulfo Valdez on July 15, 1985 in Greeley, Colorado. She cared for the family as a homemaker for several years, worked as a self-employed seamstress along with manual labor.

Florencia was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Greeley. She loved to garden, fish, sew and cook.

She is survived by her daughters, Maria S. Reyes and Luzelena Barraza; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; along with her brothers, Pedro Rodriguez, Chon Rodriguez, Gabriel Rodriguez, Jose I. Rodriguez, Antonio Rodriguez, Jose T. Rodriguez, and Jorge Rodriguez; and her sisters, Tina Rodriguez, Felipa Rodriguez, Libby Rodriguez and Martha Rodriguez.

Visitation will be on Monday, June 24, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel with a Rosary beginning at 6 p.m. Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Greeley. Interment will follow at the Evans Cemetery.
