Forrest E. "Bud" Norman, 82, of Greeley, CO died on Friday, July 28 2006 at Kenton Manor Nursing Home in Greeley of natural causes.
He was born February 27, 1924 to Howard and Emily (Rufenacht) Norman in Ness City, KS. Was raised at the parents homestead in the Great Divide area and graduated high school in Craig, CO. He then served in the U.S. Army. During a leave from the service, he married Betty Lou Stevenson on December 31, 1945. After his discharge, he came back to Craig until 1952. They moved to Rangely, CO and he was employed with Chevron until his retirement in 1985. They moved to Battlement until 2000 and then to Eaton CO to be near his daughter and family. In his leisure time, he was an avid rock hunter who enjoyed metal detecting, hunting and fishing and just being outdoors "puttering".
He is survived by his daughter Rhanda Nusbaum of Wheatland, WY., 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and a brother, Gale Norman of Craig, CO.
Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou; son, Dannel Norman, and his parents and a brother, Francis Norman.
Memorial services for Forrest will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2006 at the Battlement Mesa Cemetery, Parachute, CO with Pastor Mervin Johnson officiating. Cremation has taken place.
Bud's family requests that a tree or shrub be planted in his memory in lieu of flowers.
