Fred Weigandt, 95, of LaSalle, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Brookdale Senior Living in Fort Collins.
Fred was born October 13, 1920 to John and Mary (Wolfe) Weigandt in LaSalle, Colorado. He was a “salt of the Earth” kind of guy. On June 4, 1943 he married the love of his life, Margaret Lois East in Golden, Colorado. Fred farmed and was a cattleman for 65 years and was one of the last living farmers to have farmed with horses instead of tractors. He saw many changes in farming over those years.
He was a long time member of the LaSalle Presbyterian Church and a world traveler with a lifetime interest in people.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Weigandt, a son, Steve Weigandt of Windsor, Colorado, daughters, Marianne Werschke & husband Dick of Anaheim, California and Karen Matthews & husband Bill of Fort Collins, Colorado, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
