Freda "Charlene" Davis White Charlene was born to Orman Lester Davis and Edna Iola May Riley Davis on August 13, 1932 in Worth County, Missouri, Grant City. In 1942 the family moved to Fairview, Kansas where Charlene worked in a café with her mother. At this time she met Shirley Gene White and was married February 2, 1948. The newly weds moved to Auburn, Nebraska and then on to Berthoud, Colorado. During the union the couple had six children: Carlette May, Perry Eugene, Orman Lee, Alvin Keath, Cindy Lavonne, and Jimmie Dean. Charlene was baptized at the Evangelical United Baptist Church in Loveland along with her children. She is proceeded in death by her only sister Ramona Lavonne Davis Lippoldt, her parents Orman and Edna Davis, two-grandchildren and Emma Davis, her sister-in-law. Surviving is one brother, Jimmie Dale Davis, Charlene's six children, 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, with two more expected in the spring. Charlene loved little babies and animals of all kinds. She was involved in Rebecca Lodge and helped with the Boy Scouts. She loved working with others and enjoyed flowers in the spring and snow in the winter. She believed in God and was very faithful to her family and her prayers. Charlene moved to Greeley in 1990 and worked for a few more years. Upon retiring she enjoyed doing the things she loved most and being with those she cared about. In addition to raising her granddaughters Erica and Annee, she enjoyed teaching quilting lessons, doing sewing for others, and crocheting afghans. In 2001 Charlene was diagnosed with cancer in the heart. At this time she only thought of her children and their needs. Charlene loved her family and friends. A funeral service to celebrate Charlene's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 12, 2006 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue in Evans. Interment will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Berthoud. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 pm. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be made to the Charlene White memorial fund in care of Moser Funeral & Cremation Service, 3501 S. 11th Avenue, Evans, Colorado 80620.
