Gary Wayne Hiatt, 74, of Greeley, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at UC Health in Greeley.
He was born May 1, 1950, in Montebello, California, to Donald E. and Dorothy D. (Herman) Hiatt. He was a graduate of Fort Collins High School and went on to have a career as an Electrical Engineer. In 1992, he married Jerldean Short (Huckaby) Hiatt in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She passed on November 27, 2024.
Gary worked for many companies as an electrical engineer, including Siemens Industry, Westinghouse Electric Corporation and General Electric.
He is survived by his sister, Anita Livingston of Golden, Colorado, stepson, Dustin Short , and a step daughter-in-law, Karen Short.
Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Jerldean Hiatt, a son, Eric Hiatt, a stepson, Shawn Short, and stepdaughter, Susan Short.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
