Gary Lee Horn, 52, of Eaton, died on Sunday, February 18, 2007 at his home.
He was born on May 28, 1954 in Akron, Ohio to Earl Leroy Horn Jr. and Margaret Marie (Nitz) Horn.
Gary attended high school in Akron, Ohio and later continued his education in the Army. He served in the U.S. Army from 1972 until 1979. He married Pamela J. Dring and they have lived in Eaton since 1983. Gary started working for Safeway in Windsor, Colorado in 2000 and was later promoted to Fuel Field Merchandiser in 2002 working out of the Safeway Division in Englewood. He liked his job and was very proud of his work.
Mr. Horn loved animals, especially his cat Coco who followed him home one day. He'd purchased an ATV last summer and enjoyed taking it up to the mountains. He always came home with a pickup full of wood for his potbelly stove. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Pamela Horn of Eaton; his mother, Margaret M. Hartney of Akron, Ohio; 2 sons, Jamie L. Horn & wife Katie of Ravenna, Ohio and Patrick E. Horn and wife Jessica of Anderson, Indiana; 2 grandsons, Kyle and Austin Horn of Ravenna, Ohio; 3 sisters, Rita C. Kelley and husband Dick of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Darlene M. Haren and husband Bob of Uniontown, Ohio, and Faye L. Grrady of Akron, Ohio; a brother, Earl W. Horn and wife Dody of Lawrenceville, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his father, Earl Horn Jr. and step father, Tom Hartney
A graveside memorial service to celebrate Gary's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 26, 2007 at the Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area "A". The United States Army will perform military honors.
His family request that no flowers be sent.
