Gary Franklin Naylor, 76 of Greeley, Colorado was born on August 17, 1936 to Harold and May Naylor of Chadron Nebraska. He attended Chadron Prep school where he was involved in the music program and played football. He attended Chadron State College where he received a Bachelors Degree in Music Education. He also attended Denver University where he received a Masters Degree in Theater. He taught music in Maryland, South Dakota, Colorado and Nebraska. He was the music and drama teacher at Hyannis High School in Hyannis Nebraska from 1964 to 1988. He married Janiece Metcalf of Hyannis on June 15, 1963. From this union they had two children, Daniel Naylor (1964) and Lindy (Naylor) Welch (1968). He moved to Seattle Washington in 1988 and pursued his love of theater by acting in television, movies and community theater on the coast. He had recently moved to Greeley Colorado where he was living with his son Dan. Gary passed away on Saturday September 9,2012 at Hospice in Greeley Colorado. His children were by his side. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Drew Naylor of Canon City CO, his wife Janiece Metcalf Naylor of Hyannis NE, his parents of Chadron NE a brother Howard Lee "Bud" Naylor of Chadron NE, and sisters Gloria Deanne Naylor Armstrong of Reseda California and Shirley Naylor Winteer of Chadron NE. The family will have a quiet gathering in Greeley and then make a trip to Chadron in the late to spring to lay his ashes to rest.
