Gaudalia Contreras Haro, lovingly known as "Yaya" by her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren, passed away in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Born in Las Moras, Mexico, Gaudalia grew up surrounded by family and traditions that shaped her kind and joyful spirit. She later made her home at her farm, Contreras Farms, in Eaton, Colorado, where she built a life filled with love and resilience. She cherished her cattle, dogs, chickens, and peacocks, and found joy in driving her Can-Am with her beloved dogs, Capitán and Botitas, by her side.
Gaudalia was a radiant soul whose positivity and warmth touched everyone she met. She had a gift for lifting spirits and bringing light into even the hardest of days. Her love for life, family, and nature shone through everything she did—whether working on the ranch, caring for her animals, or finding peace on walks by the lake.
Gaudalia's journey through and survival of breast cancer was a testament to her unshakable spirit. She faced life's challenges with courage and positivity, leaving behind a legacy of hope and love that will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Above all, Gaudalia was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and grandmother who gave her family unconditional love and guidance. She will be deeply missed by her children, Alexander Edward Contreras and Katie Bereniz Contreras; her brothers, Guillermo, Jorge, and Valdo; her sisters, Lucero, Lorena, Aracely, Silvia, Leticia, and Susana; along with her many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, extended family, and countless friends.
Her light, love, and positivity will continue to shine brightly through all those blessed to have known her "Cada día Dios nos deposita 24 horas; depende de nosotros cómo las gastamos. ¡Por eso, a gastar bien las horas!"
