George E. Chartier Age: 90 Residence: Evans, CO Tribute: George Emmett Chartier was born on December 27, 1917 in Dundy County, Nebraska to Charles Franklin Chartier and Bertha Ann (Spellman) Chartier. After finishing school George worked in ranching, horse training, rodeoing until he enter the Army in 1942. George was in the service until 1946 and was honorably discharged as sergeant. During his military time he received the American Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. After military service he returned to ranching. In 1950 he married Reta Jean McEwen. They had a two children, a daughter and a son and lived in the Wray, Colorado area and finally settled in Laird, Colorado. George and Reta were divorced in 1974 and then George moved to the Fort Collins, Colorado area and worked until retiring in 1982. George was a member of the Cheyenne, WY Elks Lodge 660, Moose Lodge 257 and The American Legion Post #6. Survivors: His wife, Doris Poush; a son, Monte; 5 brothers, Keith, Bob, Bill, Don, and Dallas; 3 sisters, Everna Mae, Phyllis, and Shirley; 12 grand children; 7 great grand children. Preceded in death by: a daughter, LaDonna and 2 sisters; Madge and Selma Jean. Funeral Services: A funeral service to celebrate George's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue in Evans. Visitation will be from Noon until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorial gifts may be made to Wild Horse Ministries in care of Moser Funeral Service, 3501 S. 11th Avenue, Evans, Colorado 80620.
