George Dean Miller, age 72 of Greeley passed away Friday, September 28, 2007 at the Hospice & Palliative Care of Northern Colroado Inpatient Unit.
George was born on November 17, 1934 in Ripley, Ohio to Robert R. and Mary Frances (Morris) Miller. On December 31, 1977 he married Virginia Griego in Greeley.
Mr. Miller was a foreman for Kohloff Construction for 15 years, then for Douglass Roofing and later worked for McDonald's Restaurant as a maintenance person, all in the Greeley area.
He served in the U.S. Army for 3 years during the Korean War and was a lifetime member of the Evans V.F.W. George was also a Cub master for the Cub Scouts, Pack #202 and Pack #40.
George's hobbies included fishing, playing cards, and gardening. For relaxation, he enjoyed watching sports and westerns on television and listening to Country and Western music.
His survived by his wife Virginia Miller of Greeley; three sons, Gary Miller of Littleton, Colorado, Danny Griego and wife Melissa of San Diego, California, and Roger Miller and wife Marci of Ft. Collins, Colorado; a daughter Vicki Joyner and husband Billy of North Carolina; four brothers, Robert Miller, Jr., Jerry Miller, Dyke Miller all of Ripley, Ohio and Ronnie Miller of Richmond, Virginia; four sisters, Myrtle Vaughn, June Paul, Leota Bauer and Bonnie Miller all of Ripley Ohio.
Mr. Miller is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Richard Miller and a daughter-in-law Theresa Miller.
A memorial service to celebrate George's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue in Evans. His urn will be interred at Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors following the services.
