George Nelson Crowder, 69 of Evans, died on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at his home with his family by his side. He was born on June 5, 1937 in Eaton, Colorado to Nelce and Inez (Schneider) Crowder. He attended schools and was raised in Eaton until his marriage to Brenda Parke. George married Brenda Lee Parke on April 10, 1960 in Greeley. They moved to Greeley in 1961 where he worked for Monfort until it closed. He then began painting for different painters in the area and later he started his own painting business, George Crowder Painting in 1999 and owned and operated this business until his health would no longer allow it. He later went to work at the Stoneybrook mobile home park as a maintenance man. He moved to Evans in 2004 at which time he went to work for Wal Mart as a door greeter. He liked this job because he was able to see a lot of people that he had not seen in a long time. He will be missed by his family and friends. He was liked by everyone who knew him. He liked to fish, hunt, camp and spending time with is children and grandchildren. He was very proud of all of his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Crowder of Evans; 2 daughters and their husbands, Dawn M. and Jeff Armstrong of Evans and Lori L. and Brian Rockwell of Fayetteville, Georgia; a son and his wife, Edwin E. and Lecia Crowder of Providence Village, Texas; 6 grandchildren, Ashley Armstrong of Evans, Madelynn and McKenna Rockwell both of Fayetteville, Georgia and Krista, Peyton and Barret Crowder all of Providence Village, Texas; a sister and her husband, Anna and Matt Railsback of Greeley; a brother and his wife, James and Linda Crowder of Eaton and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Nelce and Inez Crowder and a sister, Pansey Falukner. A funeral service to celebrate George's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue in Evans. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until time of his service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Crowder's family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Hospice & Palliative Care inpatient unit and also Cynda and Katherine for their help with George's homecare.
