Georgia Lynn LeMay, 51 of Eaton, died on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at her home. She was born on September 22, 1959 to George and Phyllis (Odenbaugh) Margheim, Jr. in Greeley, Colorado. She lived in Platteville from her birth until 1985. After 1985, she lived in Evans, Greeley and resided in Eaton at the time of her death. She was a 1978 graduate of Valley High School in Gilcrest, Colorado and was employed by the Greeley Police Department from December 1980 until October 2008. Mrs. LeMay was a member of the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church until the mid 1980's. Later she attended the Greeley Wesleyan Church. Being of German heritage, Georgia learned and loved to Polka at an early age, dancing to the Polka band in which her father played his handmade dulcimer. Mrs. LeMay enjoyed cruising, camping, was an avid animal lover, held a strong affection for music and theater, participated in the Cancer Relay for Life and the Ben Nighthorse Campbell Cancer rehab multiple times throughout her illness, and truly centered her life in sharing time with family and a large circle of friends. A gift to fulfill a life time dream to skydive was accomplished due to the generosity of her co-workers at the Greeley Police Department. Mrs. LeMay spent many hours watching her husband and Colorado teams play hockey, a sport she became addicted to after her marriage to husband Jan. Survivors include her husband, Jan LeMay, of Eaton, her parents, George & Phyllis Margheim, of Platteville, Colorado, a brother, Rick Margheim, also of Platteville, 2 sisters, Charlete Rein, of Arvada, Colorado, and Kathy Waggoner, of Loveland, Colorado, 2 nephews, 5 nieces, 6 great nephews and 4 great nieces. A memorial service to celebrate Georgia's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at the Greeley Wesleyan Church, 3600 W. 22nd Street.
