Georgia Rose Wambolt, 77, of Greeley, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at her home.
She was born March 26, 1947, in Sterling, Colorado to Wallace R and Bonnie Lee (Brittenhan) North. She was a Sterling High School graduate and on January 28, 1967, she married Donald D. Wambolt. They moved to Greeley in 1987.
She worked several part-time jobs until her son reached junior high school in the 1990's. She then dedicated nearly a decade babysitting several children of close family friends and also helped raise her granddaughter into the 2000's.
Georgia enjoyed many crafts over the years including macrame, knitting, crocheting and counted cross stitch. She spent many weekends camping as she loved to find a shady spot under a pine tree to read a book while her husband fished. She never got on an airplane, but she did manage to see most of the United Sates on vacation road trips with Don. She also volunteered her time to the Assistance League of Greeley for nearly eight years and spent her later years meeting close friends several mornings a week at a local coffee shop. She enjoyed baking and cooking and her favorite cookie to make came to be know infamously as the "lemon bastard". Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her close family.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Wambolt of Greeley, her son, Kyle Wambolt also of Greeley, a brother, Timothy North of Sterling, Colorado and a sister, Gail (North) Koshio of Greeley, a granddaughter Delaney Wambolt of Lyman, Wyoming, and great grandchildren, Linkyn, Benjamin and Phinneas.
She is preceded by her parents, Walace and Bonnie North.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
