Gerald R. "Jerry" Apple, 73 of Greeley, died on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at the Plains Medical Center in Ft. Morgan.
He was born on April 5, 1936 in Ft. Lupton, Colorado to George F. and Katherine (Baumgardner) Apple.
Jerry graduated from the Platteville High School in 1955. He drove a school bus for many years for the Weld RE-1 school district. He also owned and operated Jerry's Upholstery in Platteville. Mr. Apple enjoyed working in his garden, spending time in the mountains, playing Bingo and going to garage sales.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Vickie Randall and her husband Randy of Evans and Jodie Apple of Greeley; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; one sister, Frances Gustafson of Ft Lupton, Colorado and one brother, Jim Apple of Lafayette, Colorado. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Katherine Apple, a son, Rickie Apple, a granddaughter, Hollie Rickman and a brother, Mervin Apple.
A memorial service to celebrate Jerry's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Evans United Methodist Church, 602 39th Street in Evans.
