Obituary

Glen Lee “Grandpa” Scott, of Ault, Colorado, passed away on May 3, 2026, just five short days after his beloved wife of forty-two years, Mary Louise. They are now blessed to be joined in heaven. Glen was a man who grew up to have a strength of character that was quiet, yet strong and fiercely loyal to the family and friends that were close to him.

Glen was united in marriage to Mary Gallagher on October 12,1984, in Laughlin, Nevada. Their shared passions, intense love and close bond were obvious for all to see.

Glen was born and raised on the Scott Ranch in Castle Rock, Colorado. He moved to The Jackson Creek Ranch in 1981, followed by a move to Ault, Colorado in 1986, where he lived until his final days. Glen graduated from Douglas County High School in May of 1959. Glen was a strong athlete, participating and “lettering” in both basketball and track. He pursued higher education and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from University of Denver in June of 1963. Glen started his career at Martin-Marietta, where he was very proud to have worked on the Titan Missiles. Next, he joined Honeywell-Pentax as a Systems Analyst until his retirement at the age of 40. Glen spent the rest of his years as his own boss, following his dream of being a cattle rancher, as well as an owner and breeder of racehorses. He loved going to Arapahoe Park and Turf Paradise to watch his horses compete.

Glen was a part of the Cattleman’s Association as well as the Breeders Association. His home office was filled with variety of trophies and memorabilia which spanned his interests in sports, especially the Broncos, hunting, horse racing and farming.

Glen had three children. He had the pleasure of working with his sons, John and Richard, on his ranch at Jackson Creek and Castle Rock. He was delighted that his daughter, Shannon, was an accomplished artist.

Glen was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Louise; his parents, Ida and Walter; and his brothers, Billy Dan and Robert.

Glen is survived by his sister, Bonnie Scott Walker; his three children: John and his daughter-in-law, Darla, Richard, and his daughter-in-law, Sharon Lynn, and his daughter, Shannon; as well as his five grandchildren, Alexander, Benjamin, Abigail, Ashley, and Jenna; and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his extended family, Cheri and Wayne; Russell and Christine; their children, Danielle, Brielle, and Austin; their spouses; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 8, 2026, at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 11th Avenue in Evans, Colorado. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Castle Rock, Colorado.
