Gloria J. Dahlgren, 80, of Greeley, Colorado passed away on July 27, 2023. She was born December 16, 1942, to Walter and Jean (Loiacono) Braun in Chicago, Illinois.
A witty and funny woman, Gloria was known for her infectious smile and smirks especially when playing cards or games with friends and family. She was a resident of Greeley, Colorado, for 25 years and prior to living in Colorado she lived in Chicago, Illinois and Valparaiso, Indiana. Her hands were never idle, and she found joy in arts and crafts, playing Yahtzee, various card games, building puzzles and making beautiful melodies on the piano.
Gloria's faith was influential in her life. As a Catholic, she lived by the verse, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6). Her resilience reflected her trust in God's plan, even in the face of adversity which she often faced in her later years of life. Gloria was an active member of the Greeley Senior Center, where she formed many cherished friendships. To Gloria, what mattered most were her family and friends, and she poured her heart into every interaction. She was a beacon of strength and inspiration to her siblings, grandchildren, and children.
Gloria is survived by her sons, Christopher Dahlgren and Thomas Dahlgren of Greeley, David (Jolene) Dahlgren of Brighton and her daughter Michelle Grecco of Valparaiso, Indiana, her siblings, Barbara Betourney, Sandra Slaby, Bill Braun, Walter Braun, and Paul Braun, 18 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Jean Braun, her children, Diane (Blane) Walter and Edward Dahlgren, her brother, Don Braun, and her grandchildren, Kylee Dahlgren, Taliyah Gaines, and Timothy Gaines. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 p.m. with a Recitation of the Rosary starting at 6:00 p.m., Monday, August 7, 2023, both at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel.
