Grace Slaughenhaupt, a long-time resident of Eaton, Colorado left this world on October 28th, 2021, at the age of 55. She was born Grace Ann Young on May 17, 1966, in Camp Pendleton, CA.
She joins her grandparents as well as her unborn baby in heaven. Her parents, Dr. Phillip and Ruth (Units) Young, will miss her loving help and visits. She will also be missed by her siblings Marcus Young and Julie Ethridge, their spouses, and children. Grace's husband of 32 years, Gary Slaughenhaupt misses the long walks and conversations, the sound of her playing the piano, delicious meals, and frequent smiles. She leaves an unfathomable absence in the lives of her children, Clinton, Joedan, Garth (Garrett), Everet, Nathan and Reyna.
Grace wrote under the pen name Grace S. Young and many people over the years were blessed by her artistic homespun greeting cards. Grace taught her children at home and when they were grown, began teaching at the Northern Colorado Christian Academy. She was a passionate advocate & contributor to the Children's Ministries in her church and her community.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue in Evans. A celebration of Grace's life will be held at the Evangelical Free Church of Eaton, 1325 3rd St, in Eaton, on Friday, November 5, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., followed by burial at the Eaton Cemetery.
