Obituary

Henry William “Gunny” Buss, 75 of Greeley, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at his home.

He was born on July 5, 1941 in Vinita, Oklahoma to Henry William and Mary Ruth (Newnam) Buss. He graduated from Greeley High School in 1959 and immediately enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served for over 20 years, including a tour in Vietnam. He retired from the Marines in 1979. He lived most of his life in Greeley aside from his time spent serving in the Marines.

Gunny married Kathryn Bower on December 28, 1963 in Greeley. He later married Susann Brantner on August 15, 1992 in Red Feather Lakes, Colorado.

Survivors include his daughter, Anne Geisler & husband Andrew of Windsor; his son, Henry William Buss of Loveland; his sister, Mary Achziger & husband Lyle of Evans; 2 brothers, Ray and David Buss both of Greeley; 3 grandchildren, Audrey and Sarah Schulz and Rae Geisler all of Windsor. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Susann Buss and a brother, Roger Buss.

A memorial service with full Military Honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 13, 2017 at the Evans V.F.W., Adamson-Warmuth Post #6624, 3501 State Street in Evans.
