Harley Dewayne Hontz, 82, of Greeley, passed away May 13, 2020 at his home. He was born November 25, 1937 in Greeley, Colorado to Margaret Blanton and Carl Hontz.
After high school, he entered the service as a fuel specialist for the 92nd Aircraft Support Squadron. After serving 4 years, he was honorably discharged from the Air Force. On June 5, 1970, he married Katheryn Jean Talbott in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, they happily enjoyed 50 years of marriage. In 1986, they moved to Greeley, Colorado where they have resided since.
Harley was a truck driver up until he retired. He loved to play music of all sorts, he was a master engraver and knife maker and had also earned a degree in clock making and repair. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren alike.
He is survived by his wife, Katheryn; his sons, Nicholas (Margaret) and Harley (Mary Jo) Miller, both of Idaho, Phillip Hontz, of Missouri and Scotty Hontz of Colorado; his daughters, Pamela (Bob) Rasner of Idaho, Christina (Josh) Hontz and Kimberly Davis, both of Colorado; his siblings, Jerry Town of California, Eddie Hontz of Missouri, Janis Richardson of Colorado and Shirley Calderwood of Wyoming; his grandchildren, Keith Hontz, Alex Travis, Janus Muniz, AJ Muniz, Aiden Travis, Thor Travis, Harley Miller, Jr., Jaime Tucker and Nikki Schmitz all of Colorado; Jesse Miller, Nicole Cheyne, Jaclyn Rasner-Staats, and Jamie Bradbury, all of Washington; Philip Hontz and Austin Hontz of Missouri; and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Melvin Town, Don Hontz and Jimmy Hontz; and a daughter Judy Gordan.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
