Obituary

Harold B. "Mike" Channel, 82 of Greeley, died on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at the Spring Creek Care Center in Fort Collins.
He was born March 6, 1929 in Greeley to John H. and Bessie (Calkins) Channel. He attended school in Greeley and later served in the Army from 1951 until 1953, serving most of his enlistment at Ft. Rucker, Alabama. Through his life he worked at Monfort's and at the Great Western Sugar factory. He loved geneology and amassed a great deal of his family history though his research.
The oldest son, he was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, Pat, Bill, George, Clyde and Chuck Channel; 4 sisters, Nellie Vanderslice, Geraldine Paul, Shirley Walters and Dollie McCullough; 2 nieces, Pamela Black and Kathleen Channel; one great niece, Patricia Calvert and 2 nephews, Kevin Channel and Roger Fisher. He is survived by his sister Sharon Harter of Warsaw, Missouri, many nieces and nephews and a special niece, Vickie Skinn and her husband Neil who saw to his every need for many years.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 18, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
