Obituary

Harvey R. Green, 80, of Eaton, CO passed away with family members by his side at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, CO on June 10, 2017.

He was born on November 7, 1936 in LaSalle, CO to Henry and Amelia Green, and the youngest brother of LeRoy, Albert and Kenneth Green, Harvey grew up in a loving home. He was baptized and confirmed in St. Paul’s Congregational Church, graduated in 1955 from Greeley High School, and attended Colorado State College prior to being called to service to serve his country as a first generation American in the Army at Fort Huachuca, AZ, receiving an honorable discharge in 1962. He married Constance “Connie” Fallet December 1965 and was blessed with three children, Alan, Cynthia and Spencer.

Harvey had a dedicated career as treasurer for Home Light & Power Company/Public Service Co. of CO, later retiring as Business Manger for Best Way Paving Company. His true passion was serving the community in numerous roles including Greeley Independence Stampeded, past chairman; Stampede Old Buckers, past chairman; Lions Club, past treasurer, president; Elks; Jaycees, past president, state chaplain; Greeley Chamber of Commerce, past officer; Greeley Kennel Club, past president; Humane Society of Weld County, past treasurer; Rocky Mountain German Shepherd Dog Club, Boy Scouts of America, past district committee member & activities chairman; Weld County Fair Board; Child Abuse Intervention Inc., past treasurer; National Accountants Association; Weld County Island Grove Park Advisory Board, United Way of Weld County, allocations committee; Weld County Cancer Society, past treasurer; Weld County Ducks Unlimited, past treasurer and chairman; 9 Health Fair, past organizer and site coordinator serving over 25 years.

Harvey had a very special place in his heart for his wife, children, and each of his seven grandchildren and loved spending time with his family and socializing with his many dear friends. He enjoyed vacationing in the Colorado Mountains and anywhere on a beach, and he treasured every sunrise and sunset seen from the home that he and Connie designed and had built for their family.

He was preceded in death by his brother LeRoy, parents, son Alan, and brother Albert.

He is survived by his wife Connie, daughter Cynthia (Troy) Person, son Spencer (Melissa) Green, brother Kenneth, sister in-law Mary Lou (Frank) Faiella, and many greatly loved grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He will forever be lovingly missed, fondly remembered, and daily thought of by both family and friends.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:30 AM Monday, June 19th, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 2101 16th Street, Greeley CO.
