Obituary

Jack Duane Cazer was born June 30, 1930, in Eaton, Colorado, to G.C. "Pete" and Bertha Cazer. Jack passed peacefully at home in Eaton on August 11, 2025. He was 95.

Jack attended schools in both Eaton and Ault, graduating from Eaton High School in 1948, where he played football and basketball. After graduation he farmed with his father for two years before enlisting in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He went to boot camp in Great Lakes, IL and was then assigned to a Destroyer, the USS Kidd, based in San Diego, CA. Jack served three tours of duty in the Korean conflict and then was assigned to a gasoline tanker in Pearl Harbor, HI for two more years.

While still in the service, Jack married Marian Wilson on June 10, 1953. They lived in both San Diego and Honolulu during this time. They then moved back to Eaton in 1956. Jack and Marian recently celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary. They welcomed three children into their lives.

After Navy life, Jack was involved in farming and the trucking industry until his retirement in 2010 at the age of 80. He was always known as a hardworking, honest and straightforward man. Jack was active in both Lions Club and the American Legion where he served on the honor guard. He was always very active in supporting his sons' various school sports involvements. Jack and Marian were honored as the Grand Marshals of the Eaton Days parade in 2022.

Jack is survived by his wife Marian, his sons, Jack Cazer Jr. (Kris) of Eaton, James Cazer (Cheryl) of Loveland, and his brother A. Douglas Cazer (Glenda). He was the proud grandfather of five and great-grandfather of 11. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jacqueline Ann and by his parents G.C. "Pete" and Bertha Cazer.

Services will be held at the Eaton Community Church at 11:00 am on Friday, following a private family inurnment at the Eaton Cemetery. A reception will be held at the church immediately following the service.
