Jack Cory Armbruster, 75 of Evans, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2012 at the Hospice & Palliative Care of Northern Colorado Inpatient Unit.
He was born on May 6, 1937 in Evans. He was raised by his mother and adopted father, Harold and Mary (Lyons) Armbruster.
Jack had lived in the Evans/Greeley area for most of his life. He attended the Daniels School east of Milliken and then graduated from Greeley High School in 1955. Following graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he traveled to Japan and Australia. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy he went to work with his father in the concrete business. He later went to work for Monfort until they closed. He then worked for UNC for 22 years until his retirement in 2001.
Mr. Armbruster married Juanita Marie Beverlin on May 3, 1963 in Greeley. He was a life member of the Moose Lodge #909 in Evans where served as Governor 3 times and held many lodge and State level offices. He was also a life member of the Evans V.F.W. Post #6624 and the LaSalle Eagles. Jack had a large collection of baseball caps and never left the house without wearing one.
Survivors include his wife Marie Armbruster; a daughter, Cynthia Ewald of Denver; a son, Jeff (Maria) Armbruster of Sacramento, California; 2 grandchildren, Shane Hagan and Brandon Sagert and 1 great granddaughter, Zoe Sagert and a sister, Sis O'Dell of Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his father Jake Martin, parents, Harold and Mary Armbruster and 2 brothers, Tom and Jim Armbruster.
A memorial service to celebrate Jack's life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, November 26, 2012 at the Evans V.F.W., 3501 State Street in Evans.
