James R. Peterson's Obituary
James R. Peterson, 85, of Greeley, Colorado passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, in Greeley.
He was born on May 6, 1930 in Ida Grove, Iowa to Ralph and Marie (O’Meara) Peterson.
Jim married Elizabeth “Betty” Irwin in 1950 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ida Grove, Iowa. They moved to Greeley in 1972. He farmed in Iowa until moving to Greeley where he worked in agricultural sales.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Peterson; daughter, Jeanine (Rick) Olson; grandchildren, Eric (Alicia) Olson, Michael (Jaime) Olson and Mandi (Maas) Hinz; seven great grandchildren and brothers, Don (Jeanette) Peterson and Roger Peterson. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joanne Thomas.
Recitation of the Rosary will be 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2222 23rd Avenue in Greeley. An interment will be held at Linn Grove Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
