Janet (Jan) K. Brummond, 64, of Greeley passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at UC Health Emergency and Surgery Center.

She was born December 9, 1952 to Richard C. & Mildred V. (Thompson) Helling in Denver, Colorado. She was a graduate of Regis University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree, then went on to graduate from the University of Phoenix with an MBA. She was employed by the Platte Valley School District as their Business Services Director. In 2007, she married Stephen Waechter in Greeley.

Janet was very artistic and used those skills in designing her own quilt patterns, in her photography, painting and jewelry making.

She is survived by her husband, Stephen Waechter, her daughters, Crystal Scolaro, Amber Ocean, Sophia (Josh) White, and Katrina Waechter, a sister, Karen (Chuck) Cure and 3 grandchildren, Gianna Scolaro, Rafael Scolaro, and Jesse White.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dick and Millie Helling.

A celebration of Jan’s life will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue, Evans, Colorado.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum in care of Moser’s.
