Janet Kay Miller, 65 of Kersey, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at her home.
She was born on August 19, 1951 in Greeley, Colorado to Joe Guadalupe & Mary Jesus (Duran) Romero.
Janet married Larry Joseph Miller on February 27, 1970 in Greeley. They were actually married two times, the first time they were granted permission from a judge because they were under 21 years of age and later there was a family ceremony. They have been married for almost 47 years as February 27, 2017 would have been their 47th anniversary.
Mrs. Miller worked as a realtor since 1995 and she was a broker/owner of AmeriRealty since 2002. Prior to becoming a realtor, she worked for Hewlett Packard. She was a longtime attendee of Christ Community Church and a member of the Colorado Association of Realtors since 2000.
Our mom had enthusiasm and vitality for life. Her smile and energy would brighten up a room. She had consoling eyes and embracing soul to where strangers were drawn to share their life stories. She loved her family, dogs, farm, to travel and explore (even if it was to take a short ride in the car to see the growth & changes in our state). She loved to try new things and enjoyed an active lifestyle by riding ATVs & horses with her grandsons, snow and water skiing in her younger years, camping, snorkeling and going on vacation cruises.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Miller of Kersey; a daughter, Kerry Kay Jarvis of Denver; a son, Jerry Joe Miller of Greeley; 3 brothers, Felix Leo Romero, Clyde Romero and Dr. Lloyd Harold Romero; a sister, Mary Jane Bedan and 2 grandchildren, Alexander H. Jarvis and Maxwell N. Jarvis. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe G. and Mary J. (Duran) Romero; brothers, Joe Avista Romero and Gilbert Romero and a sister, Dorothy Ruth Wood.
A memorial service to celebrate Janet’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Greeley Wesleyan Church, 3600 22nd Street in Greeley.
Memorial gifts may be made to Halcyon Hospice or the Weld County Humane Society. They can be sent in care of Moser Funeral Service, 3501 S. 11th Avenue, Evans, Colorado 80620.
