Jean Mikesell, 82 of Greeley, died on Monday, April 7, 2008 in Walden, Colorado. She was born the eldest of 11 children on December 8, 1925 in Yorkshire, England to Florence Lockwood. Jean married Wayne H. Mikesell on September 18, 1945 in Scarborough, England to whom she was married until his death on January 15, 1980. Mrs. Mikesell moved from Indiana to Eaton in 1958 and then to LaSalle in 1959. Later she moved to Greeley in 1977 from LaSalle. Survivors include her companion of 15 years, John Irvine of Walden, Colorado; 2 sons, David R. Mikesell of LaSalle, Colorado and Michael L. Mikesell of LaJunta, Colorado; a daughter and companion, Susan B. Farmer and Dave Keiser of LaSalle, Colorado; 2 sisters and 4 brothers all of which reside in Europe except for Roy Griffiths of Greeley, Colorado; 7 grandchildren, Dustin W. Farmer, Nickie J. Huff, Samantha Rice, Shannon Emler, Derik W. Farmer, Zachary Brewer, and Michael J. Mikesell and 12 great grandchildren. Jean is preceded in death by her mother, husband, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2008 at Eaton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue in Evans.
