Jean Pearl Phillips unexpectedly passed away in Greeley on May 29th 2020 at 83 years old. She was born on July 27, 1936 to Lloyd and Arvella (Brow) Allen. Jean was the middle child with older sister Laura Dillion and Billy Allen all of whom she proceeded in death.
Jean grew up in WY, WA, and CO where she graduated from Lafayette High School. Soon after, she married, had 3 children, and spent time in TX, OK, KS before settling in Longmont CO. Throughout Jean’s life, she worked retail and manufacturing. She was a very hard worker, and worked up to three jobs at one time. She worked for Beech Aircraft building airplanes and was promoted to building oxygen tanks for the Nasa Space Shuttle program. Later working for Seagate disc drive manufacturing, where she flew to Malaysia and Singapore. This was a great adventure for Jean to travel outside of the USA on her first plane flight.
Jean retired from Seagate in 2004 moving to Greeley to be closer to family. She spent her first 4 or 5 years of retirement helping her daughter Carolyn with a small jewelry business. When that had resolve, Jean was ready to rest. She enjoyed doing what ever she wanted: watching TV, reading, and doing word puzzles. Jean became a Christian in 2013. She spent a lot of her time studying the bible, and she loved to sing in church.
Jean is survived by her children, Nancy Kopcho (Richard); Carolyn Ballard (Keith); and Kenneth Phillips (Shelly). Three grand kids: Clinton Ballard (Jamie); Tyson Ballard (Danielle); Malissa and (Chrisitian) Kopcho-White; nephew Bob Dillion; and two great granddaughters Demery Mae age 5 and 17 month old Sloane Addison Ballard. She will be missed.
A memorial service is planned for Monday June 8th at 10:00 at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Ave in Evans CO.
