Jerry Lowell Edwards, 72, of Milliken, passed away at his home on Monday, November 16, 2015.

Jerry was born on September 12, 1943 in the Greeley Hospital to Lowell and Clara May Edwards. In 1948, his family moved to San Francisco Bay Area as his dad transferred with United. They then moved to Mountain View in 1953, where he went to school and graduated from Mountain View in 1961.

Jerry married Carol Baylor in 1964. He started his machinist apprenticeship in 1962, and he did several machine shops throughout the years. Jerry enjoyed fishing and hunting and the outdoors. He always called the outdoors “God’s Country” and enjoyed dry camping. In 1970, the family moved to Colorado. They were blessed with the birth of Michael Patrick Edwards in June of 1972. Then a baby girl, Christina V. Edwards was born September of 1976. Jerry divorced and then remarried Laura L. Decker in 1995. He worked at Kodak until retiring in 2005, but would continue working with them under Carestream as a temporary worker until 2014. Jerry loved traveling and some of the vacations he took were: 9 cruises (Hawaii, Panama Canal, South America and the Caribbean), he stayed 21 days in New Zealand and Australia, Barbados, St. Lucia, Puerto Rico, and South America. Jerry moved from Ft. Collins to Milliken in 2014 where he lived until his death. He attended Milliken Presbyterian Church occasionally and loved the friendliness of the Milliken people and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Laura L. Edwards; a son, Michael P. Edwards and wife Erin; a daughter, Christina V. Edwards; step-sons Timothy A. Decker and wife Julie, and Christopher T. Decker and wife Teri; a step-daughter, Angela M. Scott and husband Brian; and his 12 grandchildren: Richard and Hunter Edwards (Mike’s sons); Bryce, Austin, and Brooklyn Decker (Tim’s children); Drew, Emma, Grace, and Caleb Decker (Chris’s children); and Logan, Tyler, and Dylan Scott (Angela’s children).

Jerry is preceded in death by his father and mother, Lowell and Clara May Edwards.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 21, 2015 at the Milliken Presbyterian Church, 201 S. Olive Avenue.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Milliken Presbyterian Church or Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado.
