Jerry Ray Higgason, 60, of Evans passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2013, at his home. He was born on July 23, 1953 in Yuma, Colorado to Gene and Louise Higgason. He grew up in Ft. Collins and graduated from Poudre High School. Jerry was a founder and PR Man of Hearts and Tails Carriage Company, a legacy he started with his wife. Jerry was a devoted husband and father and offered eternal support to his family and friends. He worked for Bestway Concrete. Before that, he worked at UPS, Schwan's, as a lumberjack, a mountain-man, and a tall-tale spinner. Survivors include his wife Carol Higgason; his son Joshua Higgason; and his daughter Jenny (Higgason) Best and her husband Brian Best. A memorial to celebrate Jerry's life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2013 at Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue in Evans. A reception will follow at Centennial Hall inside of Brown Hall, 901 19th St in Greeley, on UNC Campus at 5pm. Friends and Family are invited to bring their best stories.
