Obituary

Jesse Gene Shockley, 76, of Greeley, passed away peacefully at his home on July 31, 2026.

Jesse was born on April 6, 1950, in Lebanon, Missouri, to John and Josephine “Josie” (Andres) Shockley. He graduated from Greeley West High School in 1968 and went on to attend the University of Colorado for two years.

On October 23, 1981, Jesse married Linda D. Hale. Together, they built a life centered around family, hard work, and the many activities Jesse enjoyed. They were blessed with two daughters.

Jesse worked in residential construction until 1993, before continuing his career with Alliance Commercial Construction, where he worked until his retirement in 2008.

A highly skilled carpenter and woodworker, Jesse took great pride in his craftsmanship and the work he created with his hands.

Outside of work, Jesse enjoyed staying active. He loved playing softball and was an excellent bowler. Some of his happiest times were spent at the family cabin at Red Feather Lakes, where he could enjoy his favorite pastime—fishing.

Jesse is survived by his loving wife, Linda, of Greeley; daughters, Kyle (Kaipo Cordeira) Shockley of Chandler, Arizona, and Kimberly (Jacob) Shultz of Greeley; sister, Elizabeth Betz of Kennesaw, Georgia; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Josie Shockley, and his brothers, Edward, Johnny, and Philip Shockley.

A celebration of Jesse’s life will be held from 12:00–3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 2026, at Kimberly’s Event Center, 1029 8th Avenue, Greeley, Colorado. Lunch will be provided.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jesse’s memory to the Red Feather Lakes Volunteer Fire Department and mailed to Firehouse Supporters, P.O. Box 23, Red Feather Lakes, CO 80545.

An online guestbook and obituary are available at Moser Funeral Service.
