Jim Dean Herren, 82, of Greeley, passed away November 22, 2017 at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley.
Jim was born on December 27, 1934, in Centertown, Missouri to Loyd and Geneva (Kemple) Herren. At a young age, he moved to Colorado and graduated from College High School in 1954. He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1962 and was honorably discharged.
Jim joined the family business, Herren and Strong Construction. He later worked with other companies in the construction field. Jim married Leslie Barco in 1977 and they made their home in Greeley.
Jim enjoyed watching football and sports. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Leslie of Greeley; sons, Casey (Julie) Herren, Jim Barco, Bill Barco; daughter, Kelly (Rick) Martin; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harold Herren and John O’Bannon; a daughter, Pamela D. Herren; and another daughter and two sons lost at birth.
Graveside inurnment was held 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 3, 2018 at Mizpah Cemetery in Platteville, Colorado.
