Obituary

Jimmy "Jim" Allen Lantz, 61, of Greeley died Monday, November 22. He was born November 22, 1949 in Greeley to Harrison and Genevieve (Blair) Lantz. Jim graduated from University High in 1967 After attending college for a little over a year, he was drafted to serve in Vietnam. He served in the US Army from September of 1969 until June 2, 1972 when he was honorably discharged and was awarded a "Purple Heart" for his contributions. He worked as a truck driver for Laprino Foods for many years and was most recently a driver for Ft. Collins Plating. He was an active member of the Evangelical Free Church in Eaton and taught Sunday School to third graders. Jim also took numerous overseas missionary trips. Survivors: His stepsons, Mark McKinley of North Carolina and Justin McKinley of Greeley; his aunts, Martha Sweigard of Greeley and Dorothy Sklar of NY; uncles, Robert Blair of Greeley and Clarence Blair of Casper; and numerous cousins including several from Greeley and from Colorado, Illinois, Wyoming, New York, Missouri, and Kansas. Preceded in Death by: His parents Harrison and Genevieve, and brother, Wesley Lantz. Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at the Evangelical Free Church in Eaton, 1325 3rd St. Interment will be at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver at 2:30.
